                   MURDER CONSPIRACY?

  •        Is there a murder conspiracy against author Sarah Holland?
  •          Does it centre around Charlotte Lamb's $1.25 billion e-book estate?
  •          What kind of court case will it make?
  •          How many big names would be called into court?
  •          Will it be a media feeding frenzy?

As an American attorney living in London, I attended the Frankfurt Book Fair with a publishing client of mine.

My blog today is on the International Publishing News report about the reaction at the Frankfurt Book Fair to Sarah Holland's Life Story.

I must agree with Editor Juliet Warsaw.

There is only one explanation for the fact that these 3 Sarah Holland Murder Conspiracy links are still unchallenged on the internet after 3 months - and that is that they’re true.

Author Sarah Holland

This is what people were saying at the Frankfurt Book Fair: -  “Why don't they just take her to court?”

Good question.   They say the publishing industry is founded on truth and the truth always comes out.

But the justice system is also founded on truth and all the alleged conspirators seem somewhat reluctant to take this case or Sarah Holland to court.

Law Courts

Yet the author of the 3 blogs calls the internet a “Global Court of Law.”   Appealing to the world as a jury, he/she asks the conspirators to either take him/her to court or confess.
Until the alleged conspirators confess, the 3 blogs will keep running and there are some very big names on those blogs.

Is that why they won't take her to court?   And who else would be called into that courtroom?   What calibre of witnesses are we actually looking at?

Well, first of all the case itself seems to go back a long way; to 1997 at the very least but possibly earlier, back to the early 1980s when Sarah Holland first started writing and her mother Sheila Holland, author-pseudonym Charlotte Lamb, first became world famous.

That means the list of witnesses called into court would naturally include: -

Chairmen, MDs, Editorial Directors and Editors from top publishing houses.

Media magnates and newspaper tycoons.

Top literary agents and big name authors from all over the world.
Many of them might have to be subpoenaed or internationally subpoenaed, but for a case this big it would be worth the wait.
And then there would be all the people surrounding Sarah and her late mother on the Isle of Man where witnesses would be vital to the case.

Sarah and her late mother were on the island’s Social A-List, so we’re looking at celebrities, aristocrats, royal dignitaries, racing drivers, yachters, jet-setters and the super-rich.

I was drawn to the Quiz in Blog 2 and the connection between the Literary Agent, TV’s Richard & Judy and this National Magazine Empire.

I think we all know by now that the Literary Agent is allegedly Luigi Bonomi of LBA (Luigi Bonomi Associates), who previously worked at Harlequin Mills and Boon and Penguin UK.

We also all agree that the TV stars are NOT alleged conspirators but are Richard & Judy, both of whom are Luigi Bonomi’s clients.

But what’s the "national magazine empire?"
Like most Americans, I assume there is only one national magazine empire and that’s US Giant Conde Nast.   But on checking Sarah Holland’s Wikipedia site, I discover there is, in fact, a British equivalent.

They are EMP Media, whose biggest success is the At Home Magazine series.

Nobody's ever heard of it and I have never seen a single edition of their magazines in the shops, which is surprising considering they've been running for 30 years.

EMP Media publish about 100 magazines a year including over 50 celebrity titles in their At Home Magazine series and their HQ is in Muswell Hill, North London.
 ITV's Lorraine Kelly

Almost every Daytime TV star in the UK is with At Home and it reads like a list of Luigi Bonomi’s clients.
All of them were handled by Sarah Holland while she worked at EMP including Lorraine Kelly (above), Marco Pierre White, Dr Chris Steele (This Morning, ITV), Charlie Dimmock, Coleen Nolan (Loose Women, ITV), Carol Vorderman, Antony Worral Thompson and Channel 4 Housewives’ Favourites, Gok Wan and Dr Christian Jessen.

EMP Media also publish celebrity sports magazines such as Gary Lineker's World Cup, Will Greenwood's Rugby World Cup and Andrew Castle's Wimbledon.

At the Frankfurt Book Fair last week, one literary agent was talking about the scene he had read in Sarah Holland's Life Story where a direct connection between EMP and Harlequin Mills and Boon is alleged to have sprung up in 2009/10 - solely in order to target Sarah.

"But there's no connection between EMP Media and Mills and Boon." said the agent.

But since Sarah left EMP Media in 2011, they have started an online shop on their At Home Magazine website for...Harlequin Mills & Boon...and the connection is...Luigi Bonomi.

Mills & Boon - now allied online to EMP Media

See what I mean?   The minute you start investigating Sarah Holland's case, you find an ever-growing hornet's nest buzzing secretly away behind the scenes.

And in the finest traditions, there’s an American connection, too.

The connection is Professor David W. Robertson, and for all American lawyers worth their salt, this man is a living legend.

Professor David W. Robertson

A Louisiana native, David W. Robertson has lived in Texas for many years.

He is an attorney and esteemed Professor lecturing on law at the University of Texas at Austin.   He has worked for the United States Supreme Court and changed several laws for the American people.
But more importantly, he is a Tort Specialist; an expert in Personal Injury Law.

What is fascinating is that he may become one of the principal accused in an international Personal Injury case: - Sarah Holland's.

Into the courtroom along with Professor David W. Robertson could come another American star – a man alleged to have been involved in some way.

  Mr Evan Smith

Texan media magnate Evan Smith, now building his own magazine empire in Texas along with his own TV chat show and Texan publishing company.

To add spice to the pot, Evan Smith is married to a lady who used to work in New York publishing as well as the Texas Film Commission; Julia Null Smith, none other than the niece of David W. Robertson.

Julia is also the cousin of Sarah's closest Texan friend;  and the sister of another close American friend of Sarah's.

In Sarah Holland's Life Story, it is alleged that it was via this route that the publishing conspiracy closed its life-threatening circle around Sarah Holland, using Sarah's trust and loyalty to the Robertson and Smith families to extract vital personal information for the alleged conspirators - and use it to destroy her.

One can only speculate on their reasons for doing this, although the potential for rewards in joining the alleged conspiracy is obvious.

So is the potential for damages and blacklisting if anyone tries to do the right thing and refuse to join in with the great Scapegoating extravaganza allegedly instigated by Luigi Bonomi to save his own hide.

Perhaps this is what Blog 3 alludes to with The Bargaining Chip.

Whether there is truth in any of these allegation remains to be seen, but the Robertson and Smith families' testimony would certainly be key evidence if the case ever went to trial.
And then, of course, there are all the old friends of both Sarah's parents who would have to be called and they just happen to be literary superstars, newspaper magnates, journalists, playwrights, radio stars, TV stars, aristocrats, celebrities, politicians and multi-millionaires.

If there aren't wall to wall press cameras from all over the world outside the courtroom to capture all the famous witnesses as they arrive, I'll eat my library.
There probably won't be a seat left in the gallery.
But personally, I want a ringside ticket…
